Can Pasta be a weight-loss food?

What is ZenPasta made of?

The “magic ingredient” of all our products is Konjac flour. This flour is extracted from the root of an Asian plant, called Konnyaku in Japan and Moyu or Juruo in China. It contains only glucomannan, a soluble fiber that is not digested by our body, so it does not bring any net calories to our diet.

Soluble fibres are present in many other foods, like legumes, oats, plums, apples, broccoli, carrots, but only konjac flour is made only of 100% soluble fibre and nothing else. Soluble fibres partially melt in your stomach, forming a gel that delays food absorption and provides a longer lasting feeling of fullness.

The European Authority for Food Safety recommends a 25g minimum daily fibre intake and ZenPasta products provide between 22g and 40g of fibre per serving. With our products you can easily eat a lot of healthy fibre while enjoying very tasty pasta or rice dishes.

If you are counting calories, as in weight watchers or similar diets, you will be delighted to know that our products start at 28Kcal per 100g of cooked Konjac Shirataki Noodles (85% less than wheat pasta). Even our Penne 40% Less, that taste exactly like normal wheat pasta, provide only 106Kcal per 100g (40% less than normal wheat pasta).
